MUSCAT, 29 November 2023 : Marking 50 years of bilateral relations, Oman Post, a member of Asyad Group, launched a commemorative joint stamp to celebrate the decades-long diplomatic ties between the Sultanate of Oman and the Swiss Confederation. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr. Alain Berset, President of the Swiss Confederation, during his visit to the Sultanate of Oman. Representing Oman Post at the event was Sheikh Ibrahim bin Sultan Alhosni, Acting CEO of Oman Post and Asyad Express, and members of the executive management of Oman Post.

The joint stamp depicts images of the historical Jibreen Fort in the Wilayat Bahla and the Waldegg Castle in the city of Niklas, Switzerland, surrounded by lush landscapes. Both landmarks are architectural marvels that were built in the 17th century and reflect the shared tapestry and natural beauty. The new Oman-Swiss commemorative joint stamp will be available for purchase at Oman Post Stamps and Collectibles shop at the Opera Galleria. 

Oman Post’s strategy reflects its interest in highlighting the important occasions celebrated in Oman, including diplomatic relationships.
