Muscat | 13 February 2024 : Oman Post, the national postal operator, in collaboration with Morocco Post, is proud to unveil a joint stamp. The stamp is a symbolic celebration of the profound connections and shared cultural heritage between the two nations.

Muscat | 13 February 2024 : Oman Post, the national postal operator, in collaboration with Morocco Post, is proud to unveil a joint stamp. The stamp is a symbolic celebration of the profound connections and shared cultural heritage between the two nations.

The launch ceremony was held alongside the Arab Postal Leaders Forum, which was recently hosted in Muscat, in the presence of Sheikh Ibrahim Alhosni, Acting CEO of Oman Post and Asyad Express, Ahmed Amin Benjelloun Touimi, Director General at Morocco Post Group, and members of management team.

The design of the joint stamp uniquely captures the essence of both Oman and Morocco. The theme centers around a striking representation of the first place where the sun rises in the Arab World in Oman and the last place where the sun sets down in Morocco, symbolizing the breadth and unity of the Arab World.

In addition to this emblematic sunrise and sunset, the stamp features prominent cultural landmarks. From the Sultanate of Oman, it showcases the majestic main gate of Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the historic Sohar Ship, the serene sunrise at Ras Al Hadd, the formidable Sohar Fort, and the elegant Royal Opera House. Morocco's rich heritage is represented through its distinctive architectural styles, as evidenced by the Moroccan doors, which reflect the diversity of the Kingdom’s cultural influences in their construction and design. The stamp also illustrates the "Al Khair" Mosque located in El Guerguerat, being the last sunset viewing point in Morocco.

Sheikh Ibrahim bin Sultan Alhosni, Acting CEO of Oman Post and Asyad Express, said, “We are glad to launch the commemorative joint stamp that embodies the resilient brotherhood and sharing of similar deep-rooted heritage between Oman and Morocco. It's a token of our united vision and mutual respect, marking a new chapter in our collaborative journey.”

Ahmed Amin Benjelloun Touimi, Director General at Morocco Post Group added, “This is not just a piece of postage; it is a bridge between two cultures, celebrating the shared values, history, and aspirations of Oman and Morocco."
